Frankfurt--Jan. 26--German producer prices continued to be influenced
by oil price developments and recorded a more than expected decline on the
month in December by 0.3%. In annual comparison producer prices were 4.2%
higher, the Federal Statistics Office in Wiesbaden said Friday. On average
in year 2000 producer prices were 3.4% higher than the year before,
compared with a 1.0% decline in 1999.

Oil products were down 7.5% on the month in December and rose 15.1%
from Dec. 1999. Excluding those, producer prices posted a slight rise on
the month by 0.1% and were 3.7% higher than the year before, according to
the statistics office.
