Indonesia: Consumer Morale Drops to 15-Month Low.
Indonesia’s consumer confidence index fell to 116.8 in July 2026 from 117.8 in the previous month, marking the lowest level since April 2025. The moderation was largely driven by weaker assessments of current economic conditions, which dropped by 1.3 points to 107.9. Sentiment toward durable goods purchases also declined by 1.8 points to 104.1, while perceptions of job availability over the past six months fell by 0.7 points to 101.1. Moreover, expectations for income over the next six months remained steady at 133.6. At the same time, expectations regarding job availability also fell by 1.3 points to 123.1, while expectations for business activity decreased by 0.8 points to 120.4. However, the index remained in optimistic territory, indicating that consumer confidence was still positive, supported by strong perceptions of current economic conditions and favorable expectations for the future.
