France: CAC 40 Gains on Ceasefire Hopes.

The CAC 40 edged up 0.3% to close at 8,363 on Tuesday on hopes of a de-escalation in Middle East tensions after reports emerged that Iran had received a 10-day ceasefire proposal from mediators. The proposal, aimed at reviving the interim agreement reached last month, offered some relief despite the US carrying against Iran and Tehran continuing retaliatory attacks across the region. Financials traded higher on hopes that diplomacy could eventually normalize oil flows and ease energy-driven inflation. BNP Paribas added 1.8%, Credit Agricole rose 1%, and Societe Generale gained 2.7%. Industrials traded mixed, with Schneider Electric up 1.5%. TotalEnergies rose 2.3% as oil prices remained elevated. STMicroelectronics (+4.3%) and Thales (+0.5%) gained ahead of their earnings reports. BNP Paribas and TotalEnergies are also due to report this week. Meanwhile, luxury stocks posted losses as geopolitical risks persisted. LVMH shed 1.7% and Kering lost 1%
