Brazil: Ibovespa Edges Higher.
The Ibovespa rose 0.1% to close at 159,189 on Thursday as investors readjusted positions after Copom kept the Selic at 15% without signaling next steps. Abroad the Federal Reserve cut rates by 25 basis points to a 3.50% to 3.75% range but offered no clear guidance on further moves. Vale led gains, adding 1.3%, followed by Ambev which also rose 1.3%, while Raia Drogasil surged 3.2%. Major banks finished firmly higher. On the downside Petrobras slid about 2% as oil weakened, and Embraer and Suzano weighed on the index with declines of 2.6% and 4.6% respectively.
