US nonfarm business sector labor productivity rose 1.4% in the second quarter of 2026, matching the preliminary reading and compared to a 0.8% increase in the prior period. Output iincreased 1.7% and hours worked increased 0.3%, as previouly estimated. Meanwhile, manufacturing sector labor productivity increased 2.4%, above the preliminary reading of 1.9%, as output increased 5.4% (vs 4.6%) and hours worked increased 2.9% (vs 2.6%). From the same quarter a year ago, nonfarm business sector labor productivity increased 2.2 percent in the second quarter of 2026.
