29 September 2026, 15:38  Canada: GDP Set to Rise Slightly in August.

The Canadian GDP is expected to have expanded by 0.2% from the previous month in August 2026, according to a flash estimate. Increases in mining and quarrying and retail trade were partially offset by decreases in oil and gas extraction. The figure follows a flat reading in July, in line with market expectations, following three consecutive months of growth. The goods-producing industries grouping was essentially unchanged in July as increases in construction and utilities were offset by declines in the other sectors comprising the aggregate. The services-producing industries aggregate also remained unchanged, as increases across several sectors were offset by declines in retail trade and wholesale trade.
