Industrial production in Mauritius increased 1.8% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, accelerating from a downwardly revised 1.6% increase in the previous quarter, as activity expanded across all sectors. Output rose most in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (3.9%), followed by manufacturing (1.9%) and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (1.3%), while production in mining and quarrying increased 0.8%. On a quarterly basis, industrial production rose 10.9%, rebounding from an 18.2% decline in the prior quarter, largely reflecting a surge in activity in mining and quarrying (27.1%) and manufacturing (12.9%).
