23 September 2026, 11:18  Taiwan: Industrial Output at 3-Month Low.

Industrial production in Taiwan rose 23.47% year-on-year in August 2026, easing from a four-month high and revised 23.95% gain in the previous month. It marked the weakest annual growth since May, as manufacturing output moderated to 24.61% from 25.06% in July, despite stronger growth in electronic parts and components (21.68% vs 20.9%) and computers, electronic and optical products (95.72% vs 90.14%). Overall output was also weighed down by sharper declines in mining and quarrying (-9.34% vs -3.29%) and water supply (-2.11% vs -1.26%), while electricity and gas supply growth eased slightly (6.73% vs 6.77%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production slowed to 0.85% from a revised 3% in July, marking its smallest monthly gain since March.
