16 September 2026, 19:12  Germany: DAX Closes Higher.

Frankfurt’s DAX 40 closed about 0.6% up at 25,559 on Wednesday, halting a two-day losing run, tracking its European peers. Market sentiment improved amid lower oil prices and easing bond yields, despite persistent geopolitical uncertainty. Meanwhile, investors eagerly awaited the Fed’s policy outcome later in the day, which could mark a turning point with a 25 bps rate hike for the first time in three years. Utilities, industrials and tech companies led sectoral gains, while autos lagged. Siemens Energy surged over 3%, making it the top performer, followed by RWE (2.6%), Hochtief (2.6%) and Symrise (2.3%). On the downside, Volkswagen (-2.6%), Mercedes-Benz Group (-2.4%), Commerzbank (-2.6%) and Rheinmetall (-1.5%) posted the biggest losses.
