16 September 2026, 10:18 Czech Republic: Producer Prices Rise More Than Expected.
Producer prices in the Czech Republic rose 2.0% year-on-year in August 2026, accelerating from a 1.6% increase in the previous month and slightly exceeding market expectations of 1.8%. This marked the fifth consecutive month of annual growth following fourteen months of decline. Prices increased for manufactured products (4.0% vs 3.2% in July), particularly basic metals (5.6% vs 4.7%) and machinery and equipment (1.7% vs 1.2%). Prices also rose for mining and quarrying (2.3% vs 1.9%). Meanwhile, prices remained unchanged for water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services at 3.9%, while producer price deflation deepened for electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning (-4.8% vs -3.9%). On a monthly basis, producer prices edged up 0.4% in August, following a 0.3% increase in the previous month.
