14 September 2026, 15:17  Poland: Trade Deficit Widens in July.

Poland’s trade deficit widened sharply to €1.84 billion in July 2026, from €1.06 billion in the same month a year earlier. Imports rose 12.6% year-on-year to €33.21 billion, mainly driven by higher purchases of capital goods, particularly computer hardware, while imports of passenger cars also increased at a faster pace. Meanwhile, China became Poland’s largest supplier of goods for the first time, overtaking Germany. Exports grew at a slower pace of 10.3% to €31.37 billion, supported by an increase in computer hardware shipments, which reached a record level. Price increases also supported continued growth in exports of copper, raw silver and petroleum products. However, foreign sales in the automotive and furniture industries declined again.
