10 September 2026, 14:13 India: Sensex Closes Slightly Higher.
India’s BSE Sensex finished about 0.2% up at 74,902.6 on Thursday, halting a three-day losing run, as investors sought bargains following the recent sell-off. Volatility persisted, however, with the expiry of key monthly derivative contracts and the new closing auction mechanism contributing to sharp swings toward the close. Investor sentiment remained fragile amid continued concerns over surging oil prices and geopolitical uncertainty. Gains in banking, power and select heavyweight stocks helped offset losses in metals, pharmaceuticals and technology shares.
