10 September 2026, 09:16  Denmark: Inflation Hits 9-Month High.

The annual inflation rate in Denmark rose to 2% in August 2026 from 1.7% in the previous month, marking the highest level since November 2025. That was mainly driven by a faster rise in housing and utility costs (1% vs 0% in July). Prices also increased for information and communication (5.1% vs 4.6%), leisure, sports and culture (2.3% vs 0.8%), and personal care and miscellaneous goods and services (1.8% vs 1.5%). Meanwhile, food prices continued to decline, albeit at a slightly slower pace than in July (-1.5% vs -1.6%). Transport inflation also slowed (4.5% vs 5.5%), as did price growth for restaurants and hotels (7.6% vs 8.1%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.3%, reversing a 1.3% increase in the prior month. Core inflation, which excludes energy and unprocessed food, edged down to 2.2% in August from 2.3% in July.
