Switzerland’s procure.ch–UBS Manufacturing PMI climbed to 57.1 in August 2026, picking up from a five-month low of 53.2 in the previous month. It marked the highest reading since May, as the renewed acceleration in the sector was driven by stronger performances across several key components, particularly production (up 5.6 points to 59.8), order books (up 4.2 points to 57.5), purchasing volumes (up 12.9 points to 61.0), and employment (up 2.7 points to 50.4). Inventory indicators also improved, with stocks of purchased goods rising 0.7 points to 48.2 and sales stocks increasing 2.4 points to 49.2, though both remained slightly below the neutral 50 mark. Meanwhile, supplier delivery times lengthened, with the corresponding index climbing 4.0 points to 66.9. On the price front, input cost pressures eased, as the purchasing prices index fell 4.9 points to 69.3.
