Sweden’s unemployment rate stood at 9.4% in June 2025, unchanged from the same month the previous year. The number of unemployed people decreased by 7 thousand compared to a year earlier, totaling 559 thousand, while employment declined by 27 thousand to 5.40 million. The employment rate fell by 0.6 percentage points to 70.9%, and the labor force participation rate shrank by 0.8 percentage points to 78.2%. The average total number of hours worked per week amounted to 154.3 million. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the unemployment rate was 8.7%.
