27 May 2005, 15:19 U.S. dollar fell, Gold prices rose in European trading
The U.S. dollar fell Friday morning against other major currencies in European trading. Gold prices rose.
The euro was quoted at $1.2532, up from $1.2514 Thursday in European trading.
Other dollar rates compared with late Thursday in Europe included: 107.82 Japanese yen, down from 107.94; 1.2344 Swiss francs, down from 1.2362, and 1.2656 Canadian dollars, down from 1.2674.
The British pound was quoted at $1.8225, up from $1.8205 Thursday.
Gold traded in London at $418.60 bid per troy ounce, up from $417.45 on Thursday. In Zurich, the bid was $418.28, up from $417.20. Gold fell 10 U.S. cents in Hong Kong to close at $418.65.
