TOKYO (AFX-ASIA) - The February current account surplus widened to 1.41 trln yen from 1.36 trln a year earlier, the Ministry of Finance said.
The ministry gave the following details, compared with figures from a year earlier:
Current a/c surplus - 1.41 trln yen vs 1.36 trln
Trade surplus - 907.7 bln yen vs 1.02 trln
Exports - 3.82 trln yen vs 3.99 trln
Imports - 2.92 trln yen vs 2.97 trln
Goods, service account surplus - 583.2 bln yen vs 664.8 bln
Capital, financial account - outflow 391.1 bln yen vs outflow 739.8 bln

Private-sector economists earlier forecast a current account surplus of 1.155-1.599 trln yen, with a consensus of around 1.392 trln.
