New York, Sept. 5 (BridgeNews) - The Nasdaq ended lower as telecommunication and networking stocks fell sharply following a negative analyst call from Merrill Lynch. Still, the index ended well off its session lows, and the Dow industrials actually managed to post slim gains. The Dow Jones industrial average ended up 35.78, or 0.36%, to 10,033.27 and the Nasdaq Composite index closed down 11.77, or 0.66%, to 1759.01.
