BRUSSELS (AFX) - Euro zone July unemployment was 8.3 pct, unchanged from June and down from 8.8 pct a year earlier, the EU statistics office Eurostat said. The EU's rate was 7.6 pct, also unchanged from June, and was down from 8.1 pct a year before. Eurostat said it estimates that in July 11.3 mln people were unemployed in the euro zone and 13.1 mln in the EU. Lowest July rates were in the Netherlands at 2.3 pct, Luxembourg at 2.5 pct, Ireland and Austria at 3.8 pct and Portugal at 4.3 pct, it said. Spain had the highest unemployment at 13.0 pct.
