4 September 2001, 11:03 MOF says Japan August 1-20 trade surplus down 71.8% on year
Tokyo, September 4 (BridgeNews) - Japan's trade surplus in the August
1-20 period stood at 129.0 billion yen ($1.08 billion), down 71.8% on
year, the Ministry of Finance announced. The data showed no change in the
slowing in overseas demand. The surplus for August 1-31 was expected to
continue to show a drop on year, resulting in falls for 14 straight
months.
