23 August 2001, 14:05  France H1 direct foreign inward investment 24.4 bln eur vs 11.8 bln

PARIS (AFX) - France attracted 24.4 bln eur of direct foreign inward investment during the first half compared to 11.8 bln over the same period last year, the Finance Ministry said. It said investors outside the euro-zone accounted for 10 bln of the total, and 2.5 bln of the 8 bln raised in June. Meanwhile French first-half foreign investment totalled 44.7 bln eur, of which 19.5 bln were outside the euro-zone, compared to 45.5 bln last time. French foreign investment in June was 6 bln eur and remained entirely within the euro-zone, it said.
