31 July 2001, 13:01  Italy govt sees 6.2 trln lire in corrective budgetary measures in 2002

ROME (AFX) - The economics ministry has earmarked 6.2 trln lire in corrective measures to meet the target of a budget deficit of 0.55 pct of GDP in 2002, according to a complementary document to the government's five-year economonic and financial programme presented to the senate. The budget deficit in 2002 is forecast at 13.7 trln lire. The government confirmed that the budget deficit in 2001 is forecast at 0.84 pct of GDP, or 19.9 trln lire.
