19 April 2001, 09:44 Japan stocks end morning up 2.6% boosted by U.S. rate cut
Tokyo, April 19 (BridgeNews) - Japanese shares ended the morning
session sharply higher reflecting the strong rally on Wall Street
overnight after the Federal Reserve unexpectedly cut rates. The Nikkei
rose 2.6%, or 359.39 points, to 14,001.18, recovering above the key
14,000-level for the first time since January 24.
