17 April 2001, 10:53 U.S. share prices were steady late Monday
U.S. share prices were steady late Monday as the earnings season
began to pick up steam, including results from major banks, but dealers
said action was quiet in post-Easter trade. The Nasdaq
Composite, was down 51.86 at the close, at 1909.57 after four straight
upward sessions last week. The Dow Industrials closed up 31.62
points, at 10,158.56. The S&P 500 slipped 3.82, to end at 1179.68.
