Paris--Feb. 28--France's unemployment rate based on international Labor Organization definitions hit its lowest level since February 1991 in January, falling to 9.0% of the workforce, down from 9.2% in December, French Labor Minister Elisabeth Gigou said Wednesday. The jobless rate was below economic forecasts.
* * * Registered jobseekers fell by 2.1%, or by 44,500, to 2,119,700 persons, Guigou said.
